In search of truth and beauty
Artist's statement
How are gender identity issues influencing the development of our world?
Is it possible that how we see ourselves and others around us can be holding us back from achieving
our full potential in relationship or possibly even threatening the world we live in?
Bloomington, Illinois, artist David Proeber uses photography to explore who we are and
how self-image contributes to defining our future.
Proeber’s work as a fine artist often draws on Biblical sources to find truths that are common across every age of humanity.
He asks how do we use imagery to write the code that defines the power structures
we create to navigate the world around us?

Is Proeber's work political or just an appeal for a more loving world?
